Privacy Policy for Messages – SMS & MMS
Effective Date: April 3, 2026
ADUPLIFT LLP ("we," "us," or "our") built the Messages – SMS & MMS app as an Ad-Supported app. This SERVICE is provided by ADUPLIFT LLP at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Core Functionality & Restricted Permissions
To function correctly, Messages – SMS & MMS requires you to set it as your Default SMS Handler. By granting this permission, you allow the app to perform its core features.
SMS & MMS Data: The app requires permissions to read, write, send, and receive SMS and MMS messages (READ_SMS, SEND_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, RECEIVE_MMS). Your messages are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your personal text messages or multimedia content on our servers.
Contacts Data: The app requires access to your contacts (READ_CONTACTS) solely to display contact names and photos alongside your messages and to allow you to easily select recipients when composing a new message. This data remains on your device and is not collected or shared by us.
2. Media, Files, and Location Sharing
When you compose a message, the app allows you to attach media and locations.
Storage & Camera: To send image attachments via MMS, the app requires access to your device's storage and camera. Media accessed this way is used exclusively for the message you are sending.
Location Data: The app includes a feature to share your current location via message. To enable this, we use Google Play Services Location and Maps APIs. Location data is only accessed when you actively tap the location attachment button. We do not track your location in the background, nor do we store your location data on our servers.
3. Third-Party Services and SDKs
While we do not collect your personal messaging data, the app does integrate third-party libraries and SDKs to provide analytics, crash reporting, and advertisements. These third-party providers may collect certain device and usage information automatically.
The app uses the following third-party services:
Google Play Services: Used for core Android functionalities and mapping (when attaching a location).
Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect data such as your IP address, device identifiers (like the Android Advertising ID), and usage data to serve relevant ads.
Firebase Analytics: Used to collect aggregated, anonymous data about how users interact with the app (e.g., which screens are visited most) to help us improve the user experience.
Firebase Crashlytics & Performance: Used to automatically collect crash logs and app performance data (such as app start time or screen rendering speed). If the app crashes, Crashlytics collects technical data regarding the device state at the time of the crash. This data does not contain your personal messages.
Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used strictly for backend infrastructure communication related to the app's functionality.
